Halifax rate changes today?

We have our mortgage (FTB 90%) booked with Halifax and are currently going through the conveyancing process. I've just heard from a colleague that the Halifax have reduced their rates today but I can't find this anywhere obvious online.(Our product is 90% LVR for first time buyers at 5.6%).

The new rate would hopefully apply to us as it does say in our paperwork that if the rate changes between getting the mortgage offer and actually exchanging contracts we will get the new rate.

Has anyone heard anything?

If they change, they usually change later in the day. Sometimes the calculator gives you the new deals before they're visible. I've just checked and the deals for existing customers haven't changed, which may or may not help.

Do you have a contact at Halifax you're working with? Might be worth giving them a quick call.
  • thanks. if i've not heard anything by monday i'll call them.

changing overnight ( for purchase cases seems you will see trackers temp withdrawn for new application - pending BofE meet , and small tweak to fixed rates)

the bit about changes usually refers to you benefiting on BofE changes if on a tracker,

for fixed rates ( or trackers with different margins) you will usually have to ask if they will re-offer / allocate new product if you are post application/ pre completion

  • New rates on website now.

They have gone up! on the 5 year fix (remortgaging existing customers) they have now increased the % for LTVs over 75% ,with 2 bands for upto 85% and 95%

    85% LTV now 4.94% (up 0.10%)
    95% LTV now 5.04% (up 0.20%)

    Great:mad:
  • Hi
What is it for up top 60% please? I have looked on their website but cannot find it mentioned. I am pre completion and my mortgage advisor at the Halifax said she would change the product for us if the rate went down at all before completion.
    Thanks in advance

I have reserved a 10 year fixed rate deal and I am curious why they have now removed that package completely. 5 years is now the maximum.

Under 75% LTV have stayed the same. I wish they had cut the under 75% LTVs rather than increasing the over 75% - it was a bit unfair that they were offering the same deals to everyone with different arrangment fees previously to this.

Think I'll sit on the SVR for a while longer...
