im new so hello to everyone
i willl keep this short and sweet

my case with the csa has been ongoing to 2 1/2 years
i became the parent with care in july 06(at the time i was paying monies each month and arrears by a deo - now the arrears were wrong as at one stage i was paying my ex cash in hand which she denied)
i notified the csa in july 06 that i was the parent with care and they stopped the deo for maintanance and arrears even though i asked them to keep on collecting the arrears they said they could not
also i asked them to set up a new claim against my ex for csa payments which they said they would do they also took all the details they needed to do so
i did not hear anything until oct 07 when i rec a letter out of the blue saying that a deo had been set up to collect arrears payments that were due - now i thought that they had not contacted me due to the fact that i owed money so any money my ex owed me now would be taken off9how silly was i to think that!!!)

i then contacted then to be told that no new claim had been set up and that they still had my ex as the parent with care and that i had to pay the money owed and there was nothing i could do about it

i then wrote a complaint letter and sent it by registered post within there charter of 28 days and still had no reply
in the meantime deo money was being collected and i was not receving any monies also i have two other children

i must have phoned the csa approx 30 times and spoke to loads of different people who all at the time sympathised with me and said that they would deal with my compliant / issues
i also gave my details x4 times to set a new claim against my ex but nothing ever happened

on one occassion i was told by a young lady that if i was female and not a male they might take som notice of me which i found bery disturbing due to the fact that regardless of your gender the csa should be there for the welfare of the children involved

anyway in may 08 nearly 2 years later i gave my details again and they wrote to my ex - she was assessed at £5 per week(she is self employed so has cooked her books) and i still have not received anything


i wrote to the ICE who said that they could not deal with my case until the csa have looked in it and that it should take them approx 12 weeks to do so(sept 08)

bear in mind i am still paying arrears and still not receving any payments

in dec i recieved a letter from the tribunal services saying that i have to attend a tribunal(date very soon)
they have said that my complaint was not within 28 days and that i had to send proof to then which i did(i kept all receipts etc and sent them on to them)

i also contacted my mp a few months ago but he and his so called assistant were useless

the tribunal will decide whether i have a case or not so we shall see what happens

i received a call today from the complaint team now saying that there is nothing they can do until the tribunal and then after that it will be passsed onto someone else to deal with - the complaint team have done nothing since i first spoke to them 3 months ago so i pressume now it will go to the bottom of a pile somewhere


in a nut shell

my case on going for 2 1/2 years
no money for me or my children
csa taking back pay


any help or advice would really be appreciated

i forgot to mention i lost my job two weeks ago so when the go to collect this months money by deo it will be returned
and then they will be on my case again

Go back to your MP is the answer and ask him/her to register a new complaint.

Also phone and let them know there will be know deo payment, keeps you right

i dont have much faith in my mp but i might just do that

i did tell them on friday that i had lost my job and they said that they would update there records but we shall see if they do or not

its just frustrating that they do not ever listen to me and that i never actually rec any money but i suppose im in the same boat as a lot of other people on this forum
