Hi all.
Just with regards to going BR. At the time of going BR I wont have a job but afterwards I will get a job.
I assume since my only income is JSA they wont be interested in an IPA so it will be written off.
If I get a job say, 3 month after going BR will I then have to have an IPA set up?
Many thanks
Ash

depends ash....you would need to fill out another SOA for the OR to look at & IF once your living expenses have been taken your left with over £99 then they would take a percentage of this....

Well, that sucks
.
Does that only count for the term you are an un discharged bankrupt?0 -
Until you are discharged you are required by law to tell the OR about any increase in income.
The OR can set up an IPA at any time before you are discharged.
Once the IPA is set up it runs for 3 years (even after discharge), but it can be varied up/down if your income/expenditure changes.

Thank you
.
One quick question in that case. If I didn't get a job until I was discharged, I wouldn't have to report this to the OR and therefore wouldn't have to have an IPA set up.
Is that right?0 -

If that is the way things work out for you, then yes. An IPA can only be set up while you are undischarged.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Sorry but just feel that to refuse the chance of a job(if offered one) for the sake of an IPA is a little extreeme.Dx
Ps if you are talking hundreds then yes i agree, why work your butt off to pay an IPA but if talking £50 a month then ........:eek:Free impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Perhaps you should assume less.
I was never suggesting I would turn down a job to avoid an IPA. Simply asking the question.
Thanks again.0
