in Cutting tax
hi thanks for the help with the bank (happy new year)
i have been redundant now for the last 4 months and just like every one i have to pay my bills but the thing that gets to me is the fact i pay my road tax 6 monthly and i see i have to pay £18.50 a year extra for this, now the courts told the banks that this was not on ! so how is it allright for the dvla to do this, should we not take them to court to or go straight to the house of lords !!
the banks tried to say it was for late payment but with the dvla the payment you must pay up front so whats the extra monies for or is it just one of there stelth taxes
so we should all email our mp`s and get this unfair and unjust situasion put right
yours a feed up tax payer

If you tax your car every 6 months you pay a 10% admin charge on top of the usual fee.A bit like if you pay your car insurance monthly you get charged a large apr on top of your premium, I cant see you winning with that one!0

So - at least you're eating well.;)
If you double the amount of admin .... you pay extra for it? You take your choice - and pay your money accordingly. How does that read across to bank charges. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Sorry to hear that hope you get lucky and find a job soon.:Di have been redundant now for the last 4 months and just like every one i have to pay my bills
Quite right too, banks shouldn't be selling you road tax, no matter how hard up they are!but the thing that gets to me is the fact i pay my road tax 6 monthly and i see i have to pay £18.50 a year extra for this, now the courts told the banks that this was not on !
Well if you've got a nice big bribe the House of Lords does seem like a good starting point  but otherwise I don't believe the courts have yet ruled on Bank Charges so they might still be a bit busy.so how is it allright for the dvla to do this, should we not take them to court to or go straight to the house of lords !!
But I thought the argument was banks could make an admin charge but not impose a "penalty charge". Do you really think there isn't any extra expense to be paid for 2x6 monthly renewals than a 12 month one?the banks tried to say it was for late payment but with the dvla the payment you must pay up front so whats the extra monies for or is it just one of there stelth taxes
If you really think those over-paid and over-opinated half-wits would really give a toss - then that's a really good idea. :rolleyes:so we should all email our mp`s and get this unfair and unjust situasion put right0
