hi. i am about to rent my first house and have found the right property but i need to get it before someone else does, i've had proerties go before i could get them before.
If i put the deposit down tomorrow, do you think they would take it off the market and wait untill i have the first months rent? it will be about 3 weeks until i can pay the first months rent. i know i wont be able to move in untill i pay the first rent payment.
any help will be great, thanx

You can only ask - however if the property is in a desirable area then the landlord may want to hold out to see if anyone can rent it quicker - hence more profit for him.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0

hi
are you going through an agency or estate agents if so u usually put a deposit down....
we moved into a rented property 8th dec
we viewed end october put deposit of £200 down..
moved in on 8th december
on 8th december months rent due and deposit..
you usually pay on collection of the keys...
make sure you have a proper tennancy agreement...
3 weeks is not along time..
sometimes the landlord still has a tenant due to move out...
or you are is still in rented acc and not due to move out till 3 weeks
i would be honest say that is your date offer deposit if private landlord but make sure you get a reciept...
hope this helps
and good luck
