infa-red security light

I need a infa-red security light for an oap. trouble is that there is only about 6 foot between the door and the footpath so I need one (or any other suggestions welcome) that has an adjustable detector as otherwise passersbys will set it off. There has been trouble with people ringing the doorbell and using the letterbox at 3 in the morning.

any suggestions please?

  • You can get sensors that are directional. The type I would try and get is a 'curtain' sensor that looks directly down, and normally would be separate to the light itself.

All the light fittings with built in sensors that I have come across have either a non-adjustable 'minisensor' or a larger long range (albeit with some adjustment) type that would, as you say, be of no use.

I don't have the time to help you further at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out and report back soon.
