Can anyone direct me to somewhere (pref online) that I can get good value, but also good quality, watercolour, gouache and oil paints? Also, brushes, canvases, watercolour paper.
I'm quite happy to buy in bulk. Thank you!

Sorry it's not online, but my ex-girlfriend was an artist over from the USA and she was amazed at the good prices for art materials in The Works shops.
Seemed happy with the quality too.0 -
Thanks, I've had lots of suggestions from friends to try the Works shops, but I don't think there is one anywhere near me
Hence the request for somewhere online. 0 -
I would say that I found the paints from the Works aren't the best quality - I tried some and ended up just giving them to my son to play with. If want to paint properly I'd stick to good qualilty makes.0

The Works is online! I have ordered lots of canvasses, some in the sale too. They came very quickly and well packaged. Think if you spend over £25 its free delivery. I haven't ordered paint, or brushes tho.

Thanks, pinkjobo
The canvases look great, I'll definitely be getting some of them. They've got some great basics as well - the card looks good for making greetings cards. As with Sharra, I'm not convinced about the quality of the paints though.
Does anyone know where I might find some Windsor and Newton, or Cotman, paints (for example) at a reasonable price?
Thanks all!0 -
I think that the quality of the paint in the Works is quite good. I bought some acrylics from WH Smith a while back and they were great.0

free delivery for a limited period. I purchased some materials by Reeves and was impressed with the price and the speed of response.Veteran Bargain Hunter -

Keep an eye on the weekly offers in Lidl.
They had recently different type of canvasses, acrylic, watercolours and pastels, etc... Can't vouch for quality of paints, but the frames were of the same standard I get in The Works.

I can also highly recommend jacksonsart - they have all the quality paints like Winsor & newton and Daler Rowney at one third off the original price.
They do however charge postage for orders under £35. I usually get together with my art class and we put in a joint order for paints brushes and canvases.
Their canvases in boxes of 10 or 20 work out very cheap too.
Also Partners the Stationers (in most high streets) have three for two on all art materials and card making supplies at the moment.Born to shop;)0
