Am so glad you feel better NM, am sure the OR interview will be a lot better than you are building up in your mind, and your questions will be answered in due course but as they are out of your hands, dont spend ages worrying about them, it wont change the outcome.

hi my dad is currently in a similar position with the tax man. is it tax owed or fines. if its the fines they keep adding on at 60 a go then get them to appeal it. some of the money should come off, but not all. just keep on appealing untill it comes right down. in their web site it does show how to go about this and can be brought down as far as actual tax, interest and 35% of fines. all this takes time which will give them time to try and find the money. they can also put in an offer of a lump sum and then a payment plan which can be accepted even if it isn't for the full amount0

Just be aware that HMRC will make somebody bankrupt if they don't keep up payments, etc. They see it as a way of closing their file.0

Thanks JCS1, a scary fact but one that he needs to be aware of for sure, any arrangements made def need to be kept up0
