I was in the one at the Forge in glasgow a few days ago and was a bit disappointed. they seem to have tried to go up market ie looked more like a next shop than a jumble sale! More or less everything was at half the next price (which isn't in my eyes a bargain - last year around this time they had all their trousers and jeans for £2). Lots of the Lime range, which is cheaper than next but not so good quality. Was all at full price. As usual nothing in the boys department, only very young baby and aged 12,13 and 14 stuff (i assume boys that age are not really into wearing spiderman tshirts and the like). Girls dept loads of stock, nothing looked particularly cheap although i didn't really look. Sorry didn't eveen look at the mens stuff.

I did manage to get a pair of brown and teal curtains for £4, reduced from £45. they only had two pairs though, one was a small size and one is now in my spare room waiting to be ironed!

Theres a large one at the designer outlet, Ashford in kent. Have got several bargins there, but you do need to have a good look through.
  • In answer to OP's original question, yes the winter sale stuff is now available in the clearance stores. I have been to both in Doncaster and both had it in.

I am absolutely shocked as it is normally less tidy than a jumble sale. Do you mean there was nothing on the floor and the shoes were all in pairs.

I agree it really is a hit or miss in the Forge one, I was lucky last time I was in I got 2 pairs of shoes for my DD which were half price but cheaper than Clarks!! Got my older DS jeans with adjustable waist which were special purchase, I'd been in a normal Next but they had no jeans in his size for some reason. It really just seems to be the luck on the day you go in, I do find the boys stuff very limited especially in older sizes.

I don't really like the Lime stuff at all and I never look at the mens dept either!!:rotfl:
