I understand that home brewing companies are making a fortune at the moment as more people are brewing their own beer and wine to save money. What other businesses are thriving in the current economy?

Apparently some tourist destinations in England are reporting higher levels of interest from customers as people are thinking of taking their summer holiday over here as opposed to going the the Euro zone.

Not exactly recession proof, people will still cut back on their spending even for a funeral in bad times, likewise the increase in woodland burial type places is probably likely to increase over time as an alternative. Steady customers yes, recession proof, not entirely0 -
According to people over on the Knitter's threads in Old Style, craft shops and haberdashers are doing surprisingly well as people are trying to make do and mend, or make their own clothes/gifts etc. My local wool shop (heck that makes me sound old lol) is always really busy.0
