Noob saying hi, and after some advice

Hi guys,

Im about to get some work done at home, new conservitory, kitchen extension etc etc.
I have been putting off getting the work done for some time now, but i thought nows the time, with the rates been so favourable for getting some additional funds added to the mortgage.
So i have an oppointment to see an indipended advisor tomorrow, but what should, or shouldnt i be looking for? also, i have been with the abbey from the start, now i know i will be able to get a cheaper deal somewhere else, but i have this silly feeling of loyalty...........specially in the current climate. Am i been silly, or will the fact i have been with them for so long count for anything, or am i kidding myself, and therefore think about changing my provider?

cheers guys !

    Hi Shakie,

A part of a good Independent Adviser's research should be to establish what deals your existing lender could offer; give him the opportunity to answer all your questions, explain the costs involved, provide illustrations & comparisons, and you'll know which way to go.

    Hope this helps

Are you tied in to the current mortgage?
  • No, im not currently tied in, but i have been with the abbey for 10 years or more, and silly as it sounds i feel like i should stay with them, but i am sure i will get a better deal elswhere.
