Heres an unusual but good saving. The Big Opticians (central Newcastle & Byker) have teamed up with the Newcastle United Supporters Club and in each supporters pack they are issuing a 20% discount card. To join the NUSC costs £10 adult (£5 junior, OAP, student & unwaged), So if you're looking at buying a £200 pair of specs you'll save £30 and become a member of the supporters club at the same time!
They are also working to bring more benefits to members so it could be worth a lot more. Theres nothing on their website but Im sure if someone emailed them to confirm the offer they'd be able to.

From memory Yorkshire bank were charging me on average 3 failed DD/ Cheque letters and roughly 15 to 20 days charges per month between 1997 and 2005. In total thats about £250 per month for 8 years. I did nothing about it
