A friend of mine said he thinks Blockbusters exchange unwanted CD-Roms (lots of stuff that the kids don't play anymore) for newer ones or DVDs. Anybody know if this is correct, and how much I might get from about a dozen used ones? Thanks.

They do offer store credit for good condition used games but it isn't an awful lot unless the games are recently released.
Take in what you have at a quiet time and they will give you a figure. Game Station and Play also give credit for used games that you can then use in the store.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. They don't exchange them, but do take most formats as trade-ins against new purchases.
Or they will buy them off you - though you get more in value if you trade-in.

I don't think that the majority of them deal in PS2 games any more either.0

Here's their advertised "wishlist":
Formats that we buy:- DVD
- PS2
- Xbox
- Xbox 360
- Playstation 3

A couple of Blockbusters that I went to last week, Southgate and Enfield, said that they do not carry PS2 games any more, so check before you go hoiking all your stuff down to them.0

You wont get very much for stuff. I purchased wii music and didn't like it, i paid £34.99 for it, went into blockbuster to be told it would fetch £18 store credit or £9 cash.
Needless to say i walked out with my game and sold it on ebay for £29.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
