I think i'm paying too much tax. I'm a student, tax code is 603L and i earn roughly £500 a month (16 hours a week @ £6.12 per hour). My total taxable pay for this year on my last payslip is £616 but i've paid £181 in tax and this pau i paid £51.80.
I put my details into the HMRC calculator and it says i should pay £7 a month in tax so should i expect a rebate come April?

I think your employer is operating 603L on a week one basis. You need to contact your tax office urgently to inform them this is your first job this year so that they can put you on a cumulative code and your employer cna do your refund. Do not wait until the end of the tax year or you will be in a queue with thousands of other people wantng refunds.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
