This sort of incompetent nonsense goes on all the time. The problem is that it's an employers market and some places think they can treat people like dirt. Phone them up by all means and ask for feedback but I'd hazzard a guess that most people get flattering feedback (yeah you were so close but another candidate just had a bit more experience etc). I'd just write to the managing director detailing your experience and say your glad you don't work for such a bull****ing bunch of unprofessional fools. At least it'll let some steam off and maybe make you feel better.

i know how you feel i get so peed off of going for interviews.
they make you think you got the job then say no .
Which knockes your confidance back each time i was made redundant back Aug 08 / Went Applyed for loads of Job was lucky if i heard then nov 08 it took it toll on me And i had a massive mental breakdown .
But still i try to apply for Jobs but no one gets back to you
so in the end you think why do i bother . I am sick to death of living on £121 a fortnight , Today i heard from a Job i went for an interview last week
And surprize didnt get it so. which has knocked my conficence once again
