Hi everyone.
I am in and out on the Debt Free boards and have a diarymyself for just little old me… but am hoping some of you Yoda wise lovely people may be able to assist with some advice for my friend who isn't signed up to this forum currently.
She has a little girl of 3 and a half in nursery 3 days a week, I'm not quite sure on the terms of the nursery but I do know that it was part government funded, and this was the main reason they could afford to keep her in there.
She had a phone call from the nursery today claiming there has been a mix up and that due them no longer receiving government funding since November, they now owe them £536. She is obviously upset as the nursery knew they could only afford to keep her little girl there with the help of that funding.
They are claiming that they put a sign up in their hall informing parents back in November, however it seems to me someone who does their accounts has messed up. Why have they only just picked this up now and not November/ December?
(Also which parent who picks up their 3 year old who wants their attention is going to be looking at signs?)
Also with regards to anything like that where you pay for a service, surely if the amount you pay is going to increase – they have to write to you and inform you? Not just “put up a sign”???
Can anyone offer any advice??
Thanks in advance.
