We got some ex-batts in October and they're great. They've made a mess of the grass and have run riot a bit in our veg patch but still.

Places to look for ex-batts - http://www.bhwt.org.uk - they rehouse on the day the batts are taken from the farm.

We got our ex-batts from here http://www.happychicks.co.uk/mall/index.cfm - she rehomes and gets them used to not being caged etc before passing on. Probably only useful if you are in Lancashire because they really are in the back of beyond. It took us a good half an hour from Blackpool where we'd been visiting and it took us an hour to get home again.

And yes, the eggs are fab.
