Self Employed

Hi. Ive was self employed for the last 5 years and things have got tougher and tougher, I've now had to sign on.. I'm not entitled to Job seekers because I haven't paid enough class 1 Contributions in the last 2 years (the toughest times..) (I have for the last 22 years though!) My wife earns too much for Working tax credit, and for council tax reduction. As I aren't in receipt of benefits I cannot get free training to get another job, I was allowed one free session with Connections (career advice) who was frankly a waste of time, advicing me incorrectly on matter... I would advice no-one to go self employed, don't work, as this country wants to help those who don't seem to want to help themselves...

disgusted and destitute.

Have you registered with any temp agencies? You may well find some work that way.

I have set up my own business and I admit that I just love self employment, I have entered into a business that is a dead cert - everybody wants to get married even in the recession. I am not saying its easy it isnt but I am sticking at it.

I'm in the same boat here Grays... I've been Self Employed for 18months, since September when the Media kindly sent the Country into Panic regarding the Credit Crunch I've been earning a measly £130 a month !!

I'm not entitled to Claim JSA or Tax Credits because my boyfriend apparently earns too much and I dont have any Kids!! Its a Joke... I said to the girl "So if I get Pregnant and Dump my boyfriend you'll give me some money"... She said YES :rotfl::rotfl:

This week I have applied for 3 Part Time Jobs and i'm off for a meeting with a recruitment consultant on Thursday. I Love my Job, I Love being Self Employed its just a Shame I cant get any support to carry it on.
