Clydesdale Bank Loan - PPI Cancellation

My mother has a clydesdale bank loan and took PPI on it - approx 1 year ago. There is still 4 years term left.

We wanted to cancel the PPI as it is no longer needed so I called them and asked, only to be told we need to make an appointment at the branch - which we can't do for a couple of weeks as she is away on holiday....

Does anyone know if the Clydesdale bank allow cancellation of the PPI, or are the going to tell us the only way to do it is to reapply for another loan? I found this on MSE main site, but the Clydesdale isn't listed

It was not a missold policy - it is simply no longer required.
thanks!
