Going bankrupt and travelling to the States

I'm hoping to declare myself bankrupt before the Summer after a couple of years of fighting with huge debts.
I have to travel to the States on a work related trip once a year and just wondered if being bankrupt would cause any problems getting in to the country?

not real sure on this but if you call the insolvency they will be able to answere any questions on bankrupcy

Don't think bankruptcy counts as a criminal record. I think as long as you aren't emigrating or planning to work in the US for any length of time you will be ok. Probably if you applied for residency and you had a bankruptcy marker on your credit file there would be problems.

As robsims says though - best to go to insolvency.gov.uk and find a contact number of someone who can advise you. Alternatively try the american embassy in London.
