Boyfriend going BR

HI

Im really worried as my boyfriend is about to go BR. I wondered if this could effect me in anyway as I am hoping to by a house within the next 6 months. Im currently still registered to be loving at his house as he couldnt rent anywhere so i used my name for the tenancy etc.

He has also been receiving post from companies he owes money to who are saying they are going to come to the house to collect the debts - is it likely this will happen and if so are they entitled to take belongings from the house eventhough they are nearly all mine?

Most of the time companies send letters like that as a scare tactic..IF anyone does come to your address your well within your rights do tell them to ******* dont let ANYONE in...the only way someone could come to collect goods is IF the company involves seeks a court judgement then baliffs would be involved...but this takes some time by which your BF will be bankrupt.....if anyone rings just tell them your BF is seeking advice on his finances & will be in touch..

hi there, im in the same situation as your boyfriend and have also had letters from creditors saying that they will send the baliffs around to collect the debt, i looked into this a little and from what i gathered the baliffs have no right to take anything from your home if it has nothing to do with the person in debt, although they may ask for proof such as a receipt for some items such as computer, tv etc.

I was advised to not let them enter my home at all as once they have entered once they gain more rights

Im not 100% sure of all this mind as it is only things that i have read i would recommend you seek some professional advice
