Looking for advice re: wholesale!

I have been given the opportunity to become a member of Costco (wholesaler) and would like to know if other MSE'ers think it is a cheaper way to shop. I am considering it mainly to bulk buy toiletries, washing products etc that could then be split between us, that is me and my partner, my son and his wife, and my daughter and her family. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks

You have to pay for the privilage to become a member.
Personally I dont use Costco for that reason but I do love my Makro cardIf You See Someone Without A Smile......Give Them One Of Yours0 -
Many thanks for the responses, most helpful. I did do a search before asking but obviously not properly.
Thanks again.

Well worth it in my opinion but each to their own.
Yes you have to pay to be a member but you will soon get that cost back via the savings on your purchases.
Not everything is a bargain but if you are aware of high street prices you should be able to quickly evaluate any potential savings, some of which can be considerable.
They issue regular savings vouchers and these carry some absolute steals.
I have just taken delivery of 2 Sealy single mattresses purchased via the promo voucher 3 weeks ago. The mattresses were just under £100 each after the £50 off each one. This included delivery direct from the manufacturer. The same mattresses couldn't have been bought for less than £150 elsewhere.
Since I started shopping at Costco I only use my local supermarket for essentials such as fresh fruit and milk and have found that overall I spend less.
Check out http://www.hotukdeals.com/all/deals/new?merchant_search=costco&mf=2295 for some ideas of savings.
At the end of the day Costco will refund your membership in full at any time without question if you are not satisfied.0 -
I love costco, and already saved my membership fee several times over. I dont think eeryone can get access to Makro (unless you run a business - correct me if im wrong).
Worth going to see what is there, they will issue you a "viewing card" not sure of the name but basically you are allowed to view what they sell but not buy on that visit.0
