nhs parking fines, wages arrested!

Hi
Can anyone give me some advice, have just picked up my wageslip for my nhs job to find i have had over £200 arrested. Although i have not had time to contact wages department (on nightshift) i am sure this is linked to recent car parking fines which i have accrued during new parking structures which have since been abolished. I refused to pay the fines on Martins advice as it was not a legal fine. Does anyone know how i go about reclaiming this money and did my employer have the right to pass this information on without my knowledge. I have had no communication from any court regarding this though i have had the usual lawyers letters.
Any advice appreciated;)

I think you need to contact your payroll/HR department to clarify what exactly has happened (I don't understand your use of the term 'arrested' anyway).
There can only be a deduction from your salary in certain circumstances. In relation to a civil debt this could only happen after fairly prolonged court action and I don't seehow this could happen without you being aware of what was going on.
My suspicion is that the deduction might relate to something else but you will need to speak to your payroll dept to find out what.0 -
Hi
Thanks for reply, really cant think of anything else and i haven't had any communication regarding any debt via the courts (do have debts but all under control and paid regularly, no ccjs or anything)Finally dealing with my debts :j0 -
Hi
The first thing to do is find out what the deductions are for!
The next thing to do is check your contract. You may find something in there that allows them to deduct money direct from wages.
Even if this is the case, they can't do it without informing you.
Find out the full details and report back if you need more help.
