I have merged these two threads given the similar subject.
Pal - Board Guide for the Pensions Board.0 -
Thank you. This means that the carefully considered post I just wrote, about the same length as Peter's, is lost as it went to an Invalid Thread specified message.
Mostly it was about poor actuarial advice on all sides. I might do it again this evening if I can be arsed.0 -
            Sorry to Andy!

Peter - it is the same subject as your previous thread (which while I disagree with you was a great thread) - seemed logical to continue the discussion on the same thread rather than repeat any previous arguments/discussion points.0 -
It might give me something interesting to read later but I haven't got time now.
Perhaps the board system could be modified so that new posts that took over half an hour to write don't get dumped like this; it's not like I was adding to a locked thread0 -
It has happened to me on numerous occasions as well, mainly due to lost internet connections or the site dropping.
If I write long posts now I write them in notepad and then cut and paste when finished so I have a copy in case it doesn't work.
That said I would have thought that your post should have been redirected to this thread. I'll mention it to the techs.0 -
There's a difference. If the phone hangs up you know, and even if you don't notice it and get a page cannot be displayed message, you can still use the back button then copy, then reconnect refresh and paste. It's only if you reconnect and attempt to send directly that you lose it.0

My comments on your prior post are in this thread for all to see.
I have not yet considered your most recent post in enough detail to comment on it, but may do so in due course.
There is no attempt to stifle critisism of anything. You are entitled to your views and they are on this thread for all to see. Linking your post to your previous thread on the same subject is to avoid repetition of the same lengthy discussions that took place last time. This way people can (re)read the previous discussions on the topic and post any new comments that have not already been covered.
If you wish to debate the merging or otherwise of threads I am happy to discuss via PM, otherwise I am sure you would rather this thread remained on-topic.0 -
When I contributed to Peter's new thread (as it was then) I was entirely unaware of the previous thread as it was before I joined, so would not have been commenting on that.
Pal has merged the threads to avoid repeating the subject. However having read the preceding parts in more detail I don't see the subjects I raised, so I think it might have been useful or interesting if my post had not been destroyed.0
