Hi
I have double whammy this year...parents ruby wedding anniversary...lots of ideas please...was thinking maybe a "ruby" themed hamper, they are going away so something to take and open in the morning, then mums 60th birthday. Unfortunatly my parents tend to buy what they want rather than wait for birthdays etc. Dad is very into his golf and wine, but mum doesnt really have any hobbies....too busy providing me free childcare so I can work!!!;)
Sorry to be awkard...mum doesnt like spa days either!!!
All ideas very gratefully received, thanks x

Have they a garden or a tub? There are beautiful roses suitable specially named for a ruby wedding anniversary and very little maintenance0

Could you arrange a meal in a restaurant wherever they are going - ring up and book and pay for it....? Was my PIL's ruby wedding last year - we did a cd of songs from their era, picked up a book on fashion in the 60's...big montage of old photos in a frame - they loved it!
If you are handy on a computer you could use photoshop? and place pics of them in key moments of history...on the moon/ world cup 1966 etc?
For your mum how about 60 little treats could be done like a voucher booklet....an afternoon shopping with me....a freshly baked cake......etc

I went to Pixi photos in store at Mothercare with DD and nephew to get a prof portrait of them then framed it up for my M&D's ruby anniversary present.
The deal was that one shot cost £10. My brother and I ended up getting 10 different 12 x 10 shots for £180 and spilt the cost 50/50. Quite expensive but not half as expensive as the venture ones!
M&D loved it
