Mid Bankruptcy Assesment & Bank Accounts

Hi ALL

I have just been sent my 6 month assessment for my bankruptcy, in it they are asking for my bank account details and how much is in each account.
Originally when I went BR I had a Halifax account, A Royal Bank of Scotland account and a Nationwide Acc.
When I apllied to go BR I only told them about my Halifax account as I did not use the other two. When the Halifax found out I was BR they closed my account down. So all my finances went through the RBS account. I am afraid that if I tell them about my RBS account the bank will also shut this account down. I only only very really use my Nationwide acc. as you do not get a debit card with it, I just use it as a holiday acc.

Do I risk telling them about the RBS acc, maybe they won't even contact the bank or do I make out that Nationwide is my main acc. but hardly any money goes through it.

Any advise would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Helen

    Hi Helen,

to be honest, if RBS did not shut down your account when you went BR, I don't see it being a problem. They will have had access to check the Insolvency Register and the London Gazette - maybe it has just slipped their notice.

Ok yes the OR should probably have been informed about it but I don't think that the OR is going to ask at this stage what date the account with RBS was opened. But you would now need to mention it I believe, you don't want to be seen to be hiding an account now which could delay your discharge.

If you are worried the RBS account will be closed, why don't you open a coop cashminder now or barclays account now just in case?

No, not a routine thing with most OR's
