Hi all,
OH and i have been saving for a deposit for our own house. We knew my OH had missed a few payments a couple of years back so checked his credit history to find a CCJ for £108 in total after fees on his history from the DVLA.:( This has really put a spanner in the works! My income isnt enough to a mortgage just in my name and the CCJ doesnt come off until Dec 2010. Its so frusrating that it was only for £108!
We really wanted to buy our own place this year as we want to start a family. But now we feel like we have no hope! Ive been googling mortgages with CCJ's but some want a fee for mortgage advise.
Where is the best place to find mortgage advisors that deal with CCJ mortgage's? I take it normal high street banks wouldnt give us a mortgage?
Thanks maria

I assume that you have a certificate of satisifaction(stating the judgement debt has been repaid). I am not sure it would necessarily be a deal breaker for mortgage companies, although perhaps in the current climate. It depends on your deposit size, etc. I would go to a mortgage broker.0

A good independant broker with lots of experience could help.
Ask them lots of questions and try and guage thier experience. Remember the best saleman may come accross the nicest but that does not mean he is best qualified to help.
A truly independant broker will use all the tiny Building Societies.
I find sometimes these small BS can take a view on a ccj.
How much deposit do you have?0 -
Yes it's been satisfied but only just recently when my OH found out he had the CCJ.
We have £13k deposit ATM. we should have £20k by June when were looking to buy.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

How much are you spending on the house/flat? If the £20k represents a 15-20%+ deposit then potentially there might be lenders willing to take a view. Especially as it is small and not credit related.0
