  • Without wanting to be negative again, the OP needs to be aware that charities and the voluntary sector can be the most competitive areas to get into. I think you need to cast your net as widely as possible in a difficult economic climate, both in types of employment and also geographically.

I appreciate what you are saying, but I think it's clear that the OP is aware of the need to apply for as many jobs as possible. What I was trying to do was suggest specialist recruitment areas that the OP may not have considered e.g. publications that not all job seekers will think to use as sources of job advertisements. In my experience, it is easier for an arts/social science graduate to sell themself/their skills to a voluntary sector organisation than to a private sector organisation, albeit in the more junior roles.

Client services at the maor banks would look favourably on the languages. Work your way up from thsoe sort of roles(but depends if you have any Headquarters nearby or don't mind heading to London in all probability)

You say you do well in the interviews but get rejected.

Have you thought about asking the interviewers for feedback on what you could improve? It may be that there's things you're not aware of that interviewers are picking up on.
