Newcastle upon Tyne OR Experience

Just been reading the advice given to HADDIT on the experiences of people who've gone bankrupt in the Bristol resgion and the experiences they had wih the OR.

Has anyone had any dealings, good or bad, with the Newcastle upon Tyne OR?

Would love to hear

Many thanks

Ok that'll be great Bankrupt Novice! Thanks. Did you just ring up and make an appt then fill forms in? If so how long did you wait for appointment? At least your up there with OH! I'd dread it if I had to go alone, we are both going Br 2gether too. So much to take in.

I phoned the Court 6th January so we've just had to wait over three weeks. Spoke to a really nice lady on the phone who explained everything - though the fees had gone up from the quote my Insolvency Practioner had advised, he said £450, they are now £495 each.

However I then realised that if we go bankrupt on the 28th and our bank account is closed down on the same day we'll miss loads of bill payments that we dont want to default on, i.e. bills that come out on the 1st/2nd etc by Direct Debit. I phoned up the same lady and tried to change the hearing to first week in February if possible but was told earliest appointment after that would now be end of February as more people than ever were applying for Bankruptcy - I didn't want to wait any longer so we kept our 28th hearing.

Don't know why I panicked about the Direct Debits anyway as when I phoned each company they just told me to cancel them at the bank now and they would send out new Direct Debit forms to set up a new DD. I didn't tell them we were going bankrupt, I just said we were in the process of swapping bank accounts and that we'd not have any funds in the the old account from 28th so payments wouldn't go through. As I said they weren't concerned.

We'd already applied for a Co-op Current Account which was accepted, and also the Co-Op Cashminder Account ready for when the OR closes the main one down.
All in all think we're set!!!:j

    Roll on tomorrow.
