Costco if you are a member or know some one who is. About the same price as a supermarket one but twice the size and 100 times tastier.0

Asda do 'slab' birthday cakes for about £4. Serves 12 if i remember rightly. You can get it in vanilla or chocolate, i've had both and theyre tasty0

Sainsburys have a chocolate slab cake (with lots of choc curls etc on top) for £5, think it said it serves 14 ... in case you don't have an Asda near you.
The also have a caterpillar cake for £5. I think this is supposed to seve 8/10.
Costco ones are great (and they'll ice a message on for you if you phone and book a cake) but they're about £11 I seem to remember. Brilliant value for what you get though - and brilliant for kids parties. Steer clear of their chocolate filling option - gross. I 'd agree with you guys, Asda, Morrisons, Tesco and M&S all sell party tray bakes - usually chocolate or vanilla and very yummy.
In Hamilton there is a factory shop , Lightbodys, who make all the character cakes and they have a selection reduced in there. It is pot luck what you have when you go and at busy times they restrict how much you can buy so everyone gets a fair chance. I went in for a cake for my son's birthday. When I was in they had Dora cakes, Disney Princess, Ben 10 and Disney Cars for three quid each I think, approx a fiver and upwards cheaper than buying them in a supermarket. So if you live nearby its well worth a look. Its only open Monday to Friday from 10am -2pm and people queue for about half an hour before hand, especially over Xmas, the queue was enormous!
They also sell brownies, biscuits, etc and these are usually very close to sell by date for 50p a pkt.0 -
iceland used to do a clown birthday cake for £1.99 not sure if they still do not huge depends how many children at the party. Or make one!! lol cheaper but more fuss. We used a betty crocker mix one year and it was huge and we covered it with chocolate cost about £1.50.0
