Well i've failed miserably this month. Today will be my last nsd of the month and i'm still 4 short of my target!!!!
I must try harder in march:o
    £387.39/£196.46
Pay my debt by End of Feb 2022
    49.28% paid!

£199.55/£500 savings by End of April 2022
    39.91% saved!

    Make £2022 in 2022 - £20
  • well, i managed seven NSDs, which is one short of my original target and three short of my revised target. I was scuppered by a couple of 30p cups of tea at work. (however its better to be scuppered by a little than a lot surely?)
    see you in march!

Yesterday was 10 out of 11, I am at work until 4pm today so will be going straight home and putting on a DVD and having tea from stores - OH is away for the night so I will have a night in on my own! So, fingers cross, today will be 11 out of 11! I will update later. This month has been hard, roll on a month with 31 days!

No worries, lula! Thanks for adding me and thanks for running the challenge. Even though I don't post much during the month I find the fact that at the end of it I have to be accountable about how many NSDs I have is really motivating. I'm going to try and make today a NSD just to round the month off :D

You're welcome & i probably wont be posting every day next month, but as you say just having a public target helps keep me on the straight & narrow :)

Good luck for next month, am considering upping my target... I said considering ;)

Would you mind explaining what this is please?

    Jokay x

    Yep. Lula explained it perfectly.

It's not anything amazingly clever or terribly difficult. (although it has been something of a revelation to DWYLLWYD who was sceptical about the whole NSD thing to start with.):D

it's just when you know you have to spend, or get caught having to spend unexpectedly, you have a little think ahead and think "Hmmm... what other spending can I get out of the way today so that I'll be able to have NSDs on the other days this week."

For example if I'm having a night out I always schedule a top up shop and filling up the car on the same day.

When my Mum was in the hospital my dad was completely bewildered my my insistance that I'd pay for the parking today (cos I'd already put petrol in, paid the milkman and bought Mum magazines and handcream etc, so it was already a spend day.) but I'd cheerfully let him pay for it tomorrow. (when I was planning to have an NSD.) :D:o

It's simple, and the putting off of the spending teaches you how to plan better and stops spending being so "mindless" which means you sopend les over all and don't have so much buyers remorse cos you don't really know why you bought something.

That's how it works for me anyway!

    Love Jacks xxx:D

Ooh PS Hit target today! I'm having an eBay listing frenzy today so I feel safe declaring early.

PPS Lula I forgot to say cos of battling with the cat for supremacy over the keyboard Thanks ever so much for looking after us this month. You have done a grand job my lovely! :A :A :A

  • Hi All,

Congrats to those who hit their targets this month! Unfortunately I didn't, but wasn't that far off  . Ah well, I am trying again in march! This was my first month doing the NSD challenge and it really is a challenge! It makes you think about what you're spending on and when. If I know there's a chance I could have a NSD, I don't want to buy anything that day, so it stops me buying unnecessary things. So even though I didn't hit target, I think it's really helping me cut back on spending. I'm looking forward to next months challenge!
