Richard Strauss’s sharply witty opera Intermezzo - a ‘bourgeois comedy with symphonic interludes’ – tells the story of conductor Robert Storch and his neglected wife, Christine, who becomes furious when she receives what appears to be a love letter to her husband from a young lady. Further complications ensue but eventually the conductor and his wife are reconciled. This DVD from Warner features Felicity Lott as the volatile Christine and John Pringle as her put-upon husband in a stylish production for Glyndebourne. You could win one of two copies of this great DVD by answering the following question:
Who plays the young nobleman, Baron Lummer, in this production?
:T Ian Caley :T
