MSE dropped out of my daily routine at some point..... facebook, twitter, youtube etc. Have started doing an OU course DB123 You and Your Money - aiming to raise financial capability.....
Am really happy in my new home by the sea and enjoying the garden - have some veggies and herbs planted etc.
Am still using CAP for my budgeting - which makes me feel more secure.
Son is working more hours at Sainsbury's - but I am paying his travel costs to and from work, otherwise it isn't worth his while.
The budget isn't really balancing and I am gradually eating up my savings - although I have ring-fenced £12,000 in ISA and an on-line savings account.
I am still travelling between 4 and 5 hours a day to work and back - which means I get lots of reading done!
Some doors are opening - not sure which one to go through though.
I am using a natty little spending diary application on my iPod - called a Spendometer which tracks how I am doing with my budget.
It is difficult to keep up a diary on here when nothing much seems to be happening.
I have a washing line in the garden now - so that saves a bit on drying at the launderette (at least during the summer months)Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -

Hiya! Nice to hear from you. I'm glad you're enjoying the new house and garden - but that commute is too much! Is there nothing closer to home? I've started commuting too, but it's just a half hour train ride for me. Sometimes I wish it was longer so I could do more reading. Best of luck and hope you can make the books balance -and your son too.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
