    Thanks to both of you for the help so far.....

    I now have the formCF411 to fill in and just a couple of questions...

    Firstly my surname has changed since my children were small , I assume they are asking for my present surname?

    Also my daughters surnames have changed in marriage , do I put their new surname ?

    They also ask for the Child Benefit No , which I have no idea... I assume they will figure this out for themselves?

    it may bebest to put your current name - to match your NI number and use your childrens names as they where at time of claiming and then add a supllementry note regarding this and the fact you dont know the CB number.

    As long as you get your NI number right , they should track the CB number down for you.

    Just thought of something , before you had children, where you registered for the married womans reduced rate election ('Small Stamp') at any time ?
    I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
