Activity Superstore

Hi
I bought my wife an Activity Superstore gift (around £80.00) a few years back, unforutunately it had an expiry date on it (01/12/08) where you had to contact them to book the experience you wanted. However, this date expied and we forgot to contact them beofere this date, so I sent them an e-mail begging for them to allow to extend this date, they relied as follows;
I regret that we are unable to book your voucher now that it has passed its expirydate of 1st December 2008. All vouchers have a set expiry date which is made clearon all the packaging and on the voucher itself. The reason for this is thatsuppliers, locations and often the activities themselves change and we thereforehave to ensure that vouchers are redeemed within a set time period.Subject to our terms and conditions vouchers can be extended during their validityperiod. If you had contacted us within this time we would have been able to help.However, as that period has now passed we cannot allow the booking of this voucherand are unable to help you on this occasion.I am very sorry for the disappointment that this will undoubtedly cause and regretthat this situation has arisen.
Can anyone advise if I can still claim this back as I feel I have paid for a service (around £60.00) which I nor my wife have received, surely the Sales Of Good Act or Consumer Protection Act assists helps in these cases?Anyone??

  • What makes you think you have a right to claim it back? You didn't receive the goods because you didn't arrange your experience.

    You paid £80 years ago, and the activity probably cost £80, now that activity would cost more, why should the company lose out.
