Bailiffs taking computers

On nearly all of the Beat the Bailiff programmes the bailiff seized the personal computer.

Surely a PC with all your personal info on it can't be sent to public auction for a complete stranger to get their hands on?

Anybody any ideas on this one?

well they cant take tools of your trade so if you use the computer for "work" tell them" and they shouldn't take it. Addittionally i would suggest mentioning the Human Rights Act about right to privacy and family life if you have private information on there then you should be able to keep it. Not sure it will work but worth a try.
