Savings account undischarged bankrupt

Hello,
Does anyone have any info on the position of savings accounts when you become bankrupt?
I have read on the net that sometimes applying for a building society saving account could work? There was a recommendation that you should wait about 2 months so all the BR info has been distibuted and the application doesnt get caught up in the process.
Has anyone else have an experience with savings accounts?

wouldnt bother, interest rates are crap and taxed, buy premium bonds instead, or gold sovs which will give a better return

i was thinking merely to use as an account to pay bills from etc. I have been having a lot of trouble applying for barclays basic current account and a long winded process with the co op cash minder account, I was thinking merely as another option.
Thanks for the advice.0 -
You'll struggle until your discharged really not many banks will want you as a savings customer or indeed a standard account holder till discharge..then they may still refuse you (nationwide did with me..ended up with a co-op account and a sainsburys saver account in the end!)....would it not be worth setting up another basic account? We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

I have been having a lot of problems. Firstly i called co op all went through on the phone, had to send id via post office as nearest co op branch is 50miles away (not the best). I was then told my ID had not been certified correcty so have to resend!!!!
I then went to barclays and explained i was BR, took my offical letter in, also explained barclays were my creditors i owed around £1200, I had all the correct Id, and i'm on the electoral role where i live. The lady said no problem and went on with application.
The application was declined. I was shocked i said why? She said she was unsure but to come back in 3 months, perhaps the BR had not be registered. I said what difference would this make? As she said the cash account for a BR is not credit checked, it is done on a management system or something?
I cant open a post office account as that is only for benefits.
So i was thinking of a building society savings account?
What about those accounts where you pay a set up fee and then a monthly running fee? Think banking does one and i have seen other advertisements on the internet.
Just getting very annoying now!!!0
