    Barratts and PriceLess in administration

    26/ 1/2009

ADMINISTRATORS were appointed to shoe chains Barratts and PriceLess today.

Their parent company, Bradford-based Stylo, is not in administration although its shares were suspended earlier today.

Stylo operates 400 high street shoe stores in the UK under the Barratts and PriceLess brands, employing 5,450 staff in total.

Administrators from Deloitte said the stores remain open and continue to trade.

  • Grr! Another shop that is gonna disappear from our high street. I love Barratts and shop in there regulary. Will be sad to see it go and feel bad for the lovely staff as well.
  • Got some fab girls shoes from Barratts in Blackpool (Hounds Hill) the other day - white sketchers reduced from £26 to £6 size 1. They are slightly too large for my daughter at the moment so hoping that they will fit just nicely in the summer. Was surprised at the big reduction as Sketchers are still popular and are rarely that discounted.

After having a look at the website, my girly and her mate decided thy wanted to get some shoes from the priceless website,

her mate was about to use her debit card to get it, to which I warned her to use her CC as it gives better protection.

Problem is she doesnt have a cc and my girly is maxed on hers, so I am being roped in to using mine!!

Should I do it? having now done a bit more research and foud that it doesnt satisy the min 100 spend.

  • Once again, another company tries to thump landlords into paying less money for premises.

Barratts should pay what it owes, or sell up to someone who can run the business in a professional manner.

I'm particularly sorry for Dolcis staff who managed to retain a job when Barratts was sniffing around the carcas of their business...only for Barratts to run their business into the ground too.
