Help with small bedroom- bed solution?

Hi. I don't know whether such a thing exists (if they do I haven't found any) - I am looking for bunk beds with a length shorter than 195cm? This is just about big enough to hold standard matressess....

Alternatively, I would like a high sleeper, but a shorty version. I have found plenty of mid sleeper shortys, but need a taller one. Does anyone know where to get either of these? As cheap as possible please!

Thanks

I bought a 7foot matteress for a local "Bed World" store a few years ago but a quick search of google popped up
    http://www.bedsdirect.com/category/Custom_Sizes-528
which offers to make bespoke matteress's and bases.

If you try calling them they may be able to push you in the right direction or maybe look in your local yellow/colour/bussiness pages for a local bed store which will often give you a good quote?

In my experience they dont go out to rip you off, i paid a little extra for the extra material compared to a regular matteress but that was it. Also custom/bespoke items are hard to price match unfortunately.

    Hope this helps :)

Yes this is where I'm having problems because that is a shorty bunk. the shorty matresses are about 175 cm long, and also smaller width ways, which is too small for my eldest.

So I either need a smallish size bunk (length wise) which can still accommodate standard matresses - which are about 192cms- or a shorty high sleeper so i can have a single underneath (like 'L') shaped for my eldest.

I can't see how you will get a short bunk bed that will fit a longer mattress because of the struts at each end.
  • Check out Option 26B on this site.

    Or there's a few here.

I did a google search under (shorty bunk beds length 190cm) and there's tons of results so it might be worth having a browse under those search terms (remember to use brackets!!).

Well no i dont want the bed smaller than the mattresses, if you look at most beds there is a big gap between the actual bed frame and the mattress. The standard bed in there at the mo is 202cms long, but the standard size mattress on the bed is only 192cm so fits across that wall with about 2cms to spare each side, so i know it is pushing a bit.

To clarify, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm after a bunk bed which will be a 'snug fit' for the standard mattress!

Or the elusive single shorty high sleeper!

    Ah you are a star!!!

Option 26B is the 2.6 width which is too small- but they do the standard 3ft in a 194cms length frame- looking at the picture, I'm hoping the spindells are very thin so I can squeeze my standard matresses in there! I will ring them in a min and ask for the internal length measurements- but I'm feeling confident! Thankyou very much x

Got a lowish high sleeper off an ebay shop - great prices and from what I remember there was quite a good selection. I was massively impressed with what we bought - totally solid (took 2 days to build as so heavy!)
  • Just a thought, how about a wooden framed bed, just shorten one end of them lengthways?

Could you get a local carpenter to come and make you a frame to fit in the space, once you find the right size of mattress to fit?
