It's been ages since i got a £5 note from an ATM. They're always broke when I go to them.0

The local banks just aren't printing enough fivers. When you do get a £5 note in change it's more often than not a BoE note but how often do you come across a BoE £10 or £20 note. In my experience rarely. I've heard shopkeepers moan at the shortage of £5 notes. The probable reason is that the local banks find it cheaper to use up their allotted note issue in higher denominations.
So you won't find them putting £5 notes in ATMs.0 -
With the credit crunch well under way do you think that banks should reintroduce £5.00 notes into ATM machines?

Yes, it would help me spend less

Thanks for answering my question! :T0 -
Banks are trying to reduce costs at the minute. Surely re-introducing £5 notes to ATMs would increase costs.
If an adult cannot be responsible enough to have £10 without spending it all in one go, maybe they shouldn't be allowed out on their own.
The 'yes it would help me spend less' answer sounds to me a bit like when I was nine and me ma gave me 20p to buy sweets. I spent every single penny! If she had given be 10p I would have spent every single penny. If she had given me £2 I would have been throwing up all night!0
