Can I just say something ok i am new to all but i don't see why your back is up about people offering to refer people to amazon......... i mean who loses out???
    NOONE IS BEING CONNED
They would get the £3 if refered by someone else or if they refer themselves...
YOU BOTH GET THE £3 VOUCHER!!!

And i certainly know had i had the chance before becoming a member at amazon of being refered by someone off here if it meant we both got vouchers i would much rather be unselfish and give that person the chance to refer me then sit and think nooooo i'll just refer myself.....
Of course having said all thats its important that people have the choice........
But i don't see why your damning all the people who have offered to refer people   ???
    WHAT HALM IS IT DOING??

    Fairy Wishes,

I have no problem with people asking for a referral in this way, and I think you misunderstand the nature in which my comment was made (did you not see the emoticon?).

But, in case you were interested, what is annoying (to me, at least) is the "me me me" attitude posters who just want to appear last in the thread take when they post without contributing any useful information, doing so merely to try and "bag" a potential referee.

I think it would be much nicer, clearer and fairer if those who want to be referred post a note saying so, and then whoever helps them out helps them out - on a first-come, first-served basis, if you want to put it that way. They reply to the referee and take it from there.

If everyone took your stance and used this thread as an advertisment for their "referral services" then I think you would find that it would become unmanagable. As for asking people to be sympathetic towards your "plight"...well, each to their own!

Just my $0.02, as some might say!

Wait until after Amazon have marked her order as completed (i.e. items sent.)

I wish someone would close this thread... it's like vultures circling around a corpse.  ;)

Still no sign of introductory voucher, it's now well over 24hrs since she registered. It's not going to be any good when we both get it after she has purchased an item as I seldom buy stuffs from Amazon and it is not tranferrable and has ane expiry date. I want to order the DVD player now. Is it normal practice for Amazon to ask credit card details during registration? Thanks

marylee, if you can't wait then look at my earlier post in this thread and you can get the voucher without the referral stuff, just foilow the link I posted.
Not sure about CC details on registration but would have thought it was safe enough provided it's on a secure connection. Amazon are very good with this sort of thing, and your CC company should cover any fraudulent use of the card anyway.
If you are still concerned there is a way to create "virtual credit cards" which you can set a max spend limit on. So if you wanted to buy something for £10, you could create this card with a limit of £10, use it and even if someone tries to use the details fraudulently the limit will have been reached and they can't. Clever, eh? Unfortunately I don't have the details of this to hand but perhaps some other kind soul would care to expand on this?
    Cheers, joshm
  • lol  :o i see joshm you just refered someone lol  pot and kettle... lol
oh and my last word on it..... yes there is alot of people on a couple of threads offering referals i agree but i still don't see any harm in it.... and as for my own phlight.... i have as could clearly be read offering advise on using different cads names and addresses and was only hoping to achieve one referal to make up for the loss of the referal they would not give me due to my husband already being a member.... unlike of course some...
Right i am saying nothing more on it i think what spoke volumes was after everything you said, you refering someone.....  :o
Have a Very Merry Christmas..... :-*

I have placed my order, I bet I will get the £3 voucher now and it will be of no use to me. I have a concern about giving my credit card details on registration and had to create an Amazon account. I was indeed surprised to see I did not have to key in my details again. They were all filled in for me, my concern is if somebody knows my password, they could easily use my credit card to buy stuffs from Amazon. I am not very happy about this, is there anything I could do about it? Thanks.
