I just recently found that a debt collection comany that should have been taking a D/D for a debt, had stopped trading back in Feb 07 without informing me of this situation and this D/D was stopped at that time. Needless to say another debt collection has brought this debt and the figure is twice as much as the outstanding amount that was left when the first company ceased. If any one could inform me if I have any redress on the first company to reduce this large amount.

I'm not here to judge, I'm here to help, but if you believe that you've been paying a DD for almost 2 years, which has been cancelled, then that money should still be in your account, or am I missing something?
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
