It's me that's trying to resist temptation. I keep looking at my nice shiney empty Debenhams card (got for use in the sales and gathering Nectar points) and looking longingly at the Kenwood Chef on the Debenhams website!!

I have resisted temptation so far.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Moggins,

Kenwoods are great. My ex bought me one and boy it made light work of everything, baking, sausage making, mincing, slicing, chopping, grating, etc. You name it, he bought all the attachments for it too. It was a Kenwood Major I think, black and silver, great machine. Would have taken it with me but unfortunately it wouldn't have run here, German made. Pity. Been thinking about splurging on one for a while too and now I've looked at your thread.... oh no. Must say though the attachments etc aren't as robust as they were years ago. They are brilliant though, make light work of everything. Sorely tempted, I'll be trawling the net now looking. What are we like...

Had a recipe too for a cracking carrot cake but due to the quantities etc I can't make it in my little Kenwood Food Processor, it would probably burn out. I love baking/cooking etc, a Kenwood would be ideal, just where to put it, takes up a lot of space. My ex's house was ginormous, my whole flat would probably have fitted in his kitchen. Loads of space.

This was the one and had liquidiser, and all the attachments. It was brilliant.

LOL at your picture, my dd (2yrs) is sitting next to me and seeing the photo ... exclaimed "mummys in the kitchen" ....

I have to say a Kenwood is nigh on an essential! I use mine all the time. It's true what they say that they are not as substantial as they were, my mother's is over 30yrs old and going strong, however, they're still pretty substantial.

I have the food processer attachment for it also, although I have to admit to only using that twice. The blender gets used all the time. Contemplating purchasing the mincer at the moment, hmmm, temptations!!

I want the sausage maker!! I love the speciality sausages our city butcher makes but they are so expensive. As I can get meat fairly cheaply from the market I could make my own. DH would never agree to me having one at that price though. Then again he hasn't got the foggiest idea that a kitchen gadget could be so expensive. I could buy it and lie my butt off :D

You have got to get the mincer!

Homemade sausages, that make you smile with pride when the kids eat them! I didnt even know I needed a Kenwood until I joined here!

It really hit me how useful this site is when I walked round Tesco the other day and could hardly buy anything as I make my own! Bread, butter, sausages, eggs (from my three little hens) and all the other stuff that I turn my nose up at now as my homemade is far better!

I personally know 3 people who have Kenwoods: one inherited a 60s model, one a 70s model and one picked up a 70s model for £25 at a car boot (although it was a while ago) All were complete with attachments and are still going strong.
But, if you were to get a brand spanking new one, it would be a solid investment, moggins, wouldn't it?
