Final Salary Pension

I've been given the chance to join my works pension scheme.
I would have to pay 7% per mth and they will contribute approx 13%. It's based on final salary.
I know absolutely nothing about pensions and wondered if this sounds ok?
Any advise greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Join tomorrow, you wiill not get a better offer, most companies have closed down final salary schemes for new employees in favour of the less lucrative money purchase schemes;)0 -
