Hi All,

This as all just come to mind after reading the post about save the date cards. I ordered my save the date cards in Oct last year for 28th May 2011 and i had my heart set on a gold colour theme so the cards have a gold background.

I went dress shopping yesterday ended up buying my dress as it was a really really good bargin and only just realised my dress has red in and not gold so do i order more save the date cards or ????

I had my heart set on the same dress with gold in but when tried it on it just didnt look right and the red looked better so i just changed colour without thinking

Congratulations on finding your dress- have you got any pics? I would leave the save the dates as they are (no point wasting money!) When are you planning to send them out?

O/H has said keep the save the date cards and just send them as the invites will be in the new colour scheme ( as not even looked at them yet) but u know what men are like they will say anything for easy life lol

Congratulations on finding your dress.

Rather than waste money use the save the date cards that you have already. Also there is no reason why you can't incorporate a bit of gold into your theme - red and gold go well together.

well thats what my mum said as i dont think O/H wants to change his idea of waistcoats and stuff and the dress does have some gold in but you can only see that up close in the detail

thats nice to know although mine isnt gonna get worn till 2011 :-( but so happy i got it lol i was gonna order from landy bridal but couldnt resist it when tried on in shop just HAD to buy it

Wouldn't worry about it, my save the date magnets didn't tie into my colour theme (they had a photo on) and my invites don't really tie in either, its not like people are gonna turn up with their invites and compare them to the reception colours is there?

Tbh, I very much doubt people will even notice that the save the date cards are just in gold and not red.

If there is gold in your dress then you should just stick with your original theme - gold with red will belovely together.

I wouldn't worry at all - noone will notice that the save the date cards are one colour theme and that the actual theme is different.

I think we brides can lose a bit of perspective. It hit home for me when I looked at my cousin's wedding photos from 2 years ago and realised that as a guest I hadn't actually remembered any of the detail, including what the cake looked like. All I remember is it was a lovely day and we had a really good time!
