Shared Equity and Mortgages

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the above I am currently at my wits end with the whole process. I am trying to purchase a LIFT prooperty (previously called Homestake) of which the social land lord wants to keep a 20% Golden Share. I have been trying to get a mortgage with the ABBEY until my Financial Adviser told me on Friday that he thinks no mortgage lender will go for a Golden Share being retained in the flat. Has anyone come accross this or give any advice??

Comments

  • Is LIFT Scotland (from memory)? Might make a difference as most people here will presume this is English/Welsh law and so give advice on the English property buying system..
