NR are being so unreasonable and are not prepared to listen to my current circumstances. I have cancelled my DD with them on 24 Dec and not paid my mortgage in Jan 09.
I have not yet had a letter or phone call from them about this.??? Has anyone else experienced the same thing.
I am trying to take advantage of free living at the moment by not paying my mortgage and using the money to save up for my BR fee and also a bond on a place. Is there any others who are doing the same and how long do you think I could get away with this.
I cant see the point in paying them as they are just increasing my mortgage and leave my no choice but to go BR so why should i pay them for them to reposses the house and leave me with the debt.
Does anyone agree as I have never been in the position before I have always been a fair person and also paid my mortgage on time. I am not sure i am doing the right thing sometimes.

I have to say if you are going to go BR you are doing the right thing and as many others have done also.
Im surprised you have not heard from them as i had a loan with them which i had paid on time for over 2 years and they were hounding me within 2 days of the payment not being made.
Im sure it will start soon though.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

I did exactly the same with NR at the same time last year. It was August by the time they took me to court for repossession, and my eviction date was only last week, although I did leave the property in July.0 -
My mortgage was with NR and my house gets reposessed tomorrow but it has taken them since May 2008 so it takes some time.
They were unreasonable and wouldnt listen to my personal circumstances and this could have been avoided. Insolvency advisors said that NR were one of the worst banks to deal with!!0 -
I am wanting to stay a the property until i have to move out as my credit rating is affected and I need to put down more of a deposit. At what point would you say would be my time to go as I not sure of how the repo procedure and all that goes.
So i am wanting to put off BR until then in order to gain the money by not paying my mortgage.0 -

So did you stop paying your mortgage or was you just struggling to keep up with the payments.
Have you gone BR then also. My solicitor seems has said its the best way I could go and sometimes have my doubts about it all. Its just the timing of everything and in what order to do things.
I need to write a task list out and I have no idea what to do first and in what order.0 -

My timeline was:
Jan 08 - First missed payment
Apr 08 - Bankruptcy
Jul 08 - I left the property and moved into rented
Aug 08 - Court gave possession to NR
Jan 09 - Eviction served
Basically I could have lived there a year rent free, also I had told NR repeatedly since around May that I would voluntarily surrender, yet they always ignored that, probably so they could keep adding their charges onto the balance.0 -

They add the charges anyway... right up until the day its sold. That includes a mortgage payment every month and interest, just because they have taken it back doesnt mean your not responsible for the mortgage, i didnt know that either at the time0 -
Yeah, I know, just that they could have had the keys in July and sold the property and got their money then, instead of waiting till now0
