portable divx dvd player for under £70

tevion DVP 7012 portable dvd player


bought one today at aldi for £69.95. comes with free carry case and car straps. but biggest bonus for me was. i put in a divx dvd and it worked fine. i thought only shinco players played divx so i am well chuffed.
there were only 3 left in my local aldi so you best hurry if you want 1.

bought a tecknika DVP-1012 7" portable dvd player from Tescos for £59.97 plays divx (xvid) nice.

Edit - also comes with carry bag/incar holder, cig adaptor etc

looks like they've put the price back up. These were £59.99 at Xmas, cracking player and as you say bonus of being Divx compatible. Still searching for the region free hack though.

Does anyone know if this is nationwide or selected Aldi stores?
Bought one before xmas..medion £65.00(somerfield) NO divx.Truely upsetting!

The problem with this one is that its not multi-region and there doesn't seem to be a hack available:(
The other model Technika DVP-2005 £64.97 can be hacked.

I am still quite new to this lark, but tonight when I ordered something from Simply be they asked if I was interested in their special offers, one of which was a 6" screen portable DVD with car adaptor, headphones, rechargeable battery and charger and carry case for £99 - I thought it was a good deal because of the rechargeable batteries, and so ordered one. Is it a good buy? I asked if it was multi-region and she said it was.

as for the technika portables from tescos, can anyone confirm which players play divx and which dont. saw some in there christmas but did'nt see any details on the packaging.

i asked the manager at my local store and he said they still had some left out back.

and if you back up a copy of the original dvd with dvd shrink or dvd clone the copy will be region free and therefore playable on your player.

No it doesn't,
also the DVP-2005 comes with earphones(it say headphones on the box) but the DVP-1012 doesn't.
