Scarborough Mortgages

Hi, Not sure if i should post here, as im going bankrupt soon i might as well ask,

Does any one know if scarborough mortgage also know as north orkshire mortgages, are part of the goverment scheme where i can defer my interest payments for up to two years

    This scheme doesn't really exist yet. The government has, as usual, announced it ages before actually working out how it will work or getting the lenders to agree to do it.

    It only applies to people who have been paying some of their mortgage each month for 5 months since they lost their job - if that's why you are in trouble - and who still have some money coming in (probably from another working partner).

    It really doesn't cover very many people in mortgage difficulties.

    Thanks for your response,

    I run my own company that ceased trading early Nov 08, i have been paying my mortgage since, however money running out, im now working self employed on a much reduced income.

    Give some one like National Debtline a call and go through you situation with them. They should be able to advise how to ask about this scheme. Be very patient, they are incredibly busy, some posters on here have spent half an hour with their finger on re-dial before getting through.
