Until you receive your P60 for the year.
£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths
  • So in theory you would only need to keep about a year's worth?

How long should you keep a P60 for?

Keeping individual payslips (or samples of them) for longer may be useful if you want to prove that you were paid at a particular level in a job.

(Because in one tax year you can have different pay rates because you are promoted for instance and also a P60 is issued by whoever is employing you at the year end while you may have worked for two or more employers whose payments are included in the P60.)

Personaly I have kept all of mine since I started work about 6-7 years ago
  • I have all my payslips going back to 1985. I took home just over £500 back in October 1985, when I started work following graduation.
